Getting started
Forrit is an enterprise, cloud-native headless content management platform for regulated businesses. It brings together the Forrit CMS, where your teams create and manage content, and the Service Delivery Hub, which deploys, monitors and manages the cloud resources behind it.
Forrit is designed for organisations that need to manage digital content securely and at scale, particularly in regulated sectors such as financial services, government, healthcare and energy. Its role-based interface means developers, content owners and DevOps managers each get an experience focused on the task in hand.
Fast. The Service Delivery Hub provides a simple seven-step process to implement the CMS and makes sure the entire environment is created accurately. CMS instances and sites can be created in minutes, and the deployment process is fully managed and audited.
No. Editors build and update pages using pre-built components created by your developers, so anyone can create pages and upload content with minimal technical knowledge, while your brand and layouts stay consistent.
Hosting and infrastructure
Forrit is cloud native. It uses a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) architecture with modern containerisation and resource management, and can be deployed on leading public cloud platforms or with sovereign cloud providers, depending on your requirements.
Yes. As well as public cloud, Forrit can be deployed with sovereign cloud providers, helping organisations meet data residency, sovereignty and regulatory requirements. Talk to us about the provider and region that best suit your needs.
The platform scales dynamically to meet surges in demand, so performance stays consistent regardless of load. The Service Delivery Hub supports auto-scaling of environments, which means you only pay for the cloud services you actually need.
Forrit delivers content globally through a modern cloud content delivery network built for performance, scale and security. If you need content even closer to your users, additional in-region endpoints can be created in minutes.
The Service Delivery Hub gives you a consolidated dashboard for your entire web estate, with global real-time monitoring, quick identification of performance issues and the ability to fix them in minutes. It also tracks your cloud costs in real time.
Security and compliance
Yes. Forrit Technology Ltd is an ISO 27001 business, and both the company and the platform are secure by design.
Forrit is built to help regulated businesses meet modern operational resilience standards. Our approach to threat intelligence, platform resilience, high availability and fast service recovery is designed to support compliance with the Prudential Regulation Authority, DORA and NIS2, backed by a full audit trail of every change.
Airlock Publishing is Forrit’s decoupled publishing architecture. Content is pushed out to front-end publishing services that cannot access core CMS data, so your back-end data can’t be compromised through your public website. It is one layer of our defence-in-depth approach.
Every file uploaded to the Media Library is scanned for malware in near real time. Your sites are protected by a web application firewall that defends against the OWASP Top 10 risks, malicious bots and DDoS attacks, with real-time alerts and reporting.
Yes. Every Forrit Platform product release is penetration tested, and optional penetration and resiliency testing is available for customer environments too.
Access is managed through enterprise identity management and role-based access control (RBAC), so users only have the privileges they need. Every CMS task, action and change is securely logged for future audit and review.
CMS features
Forrit separates your content from how it is presented. The same content can be published as full HTML web pages or as pure JSON content, so it can be reused across different websites, applications and channels with consistent brand management.
Changes are prepared in separate task branches, so work can be reviewed before it goes live. Customisable workflows and tailored approval policies control what gets published, and content owners can follow changes through their workflow and track deployment times.
Yes. Forrit supports multiple locales and lets you combine AI translation with agency translation services. When your master copy changes, Forrit can re-translate your selected languages in seconds, with a built-in review workflow to check the results.
Media is automatically tagged with metadata using AI when it is uploaded, making assets easy to search and manage. Each asset can have multiple responsive versions to suit different formats and screen sizes.
Yes. The platform supports the creation and management of accessible content, including proper tagging in line with WCAG guidelines, and is compatible with modern screen readers such as JAWS.
Integrations and APIs
Forrit is a composable CMS that uses familiar development tools and processes to manage your development lifecycle. Our .NET SDKs let your developers customise layouts, build tailored components and integrate with the products and services you already use.
Yes. Forrit provides a GraphQL API for working with your CMS programmatically, including content types, content entries, components and pages, so you can automate content operations and connect Forrit to other systems.
Yes. As well as HTML pages, Forrit can publish pure JSON content with no markup, which apps and other digital channels can consume directly from the same managed source.
Yes. Forrit can integrate with your own Security Operations Centre or an approved third-party SOC, and a managed SOC is available as an optional service.
AI and MCP
Forrit uses AI to speed up everyday content work, including automatic metadata tagging of media when it is uploaded and fast AI translation of content, with review workflows so people stay in control of what is published.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect securely to other tools. The Forrit MCP server lets an authorised AI assistant work with your CMS through the Forrit API, for example to create content types, content entries, components and pages.
CMS Skills are packaged instructions that guide an AI assistant through common Forrit tasks, such as setting up a task branch, designing a content type, building a component, creating a page or drafting a blog post, so the work follows Forrit best practice.
Changes made through the MCP server are made in task branches, just like changes made by people, so they can be reviewed and approved through your normal workflow before anything is published.
Support and onboarding
Forrit user documentation is available at docs.forrit.com, and you can also find it under Resources in the main menu.
Role-based access control gives central and local administrators a secure framework to make only the changes they have rights to. That makes it much easier to onboard new departments, partners or acquired businesses while keeping control of your brand.
Yes. The platform can adapt to your operating model with optional services such as a managed SOC, break-glass access, and security penetration and resiliency testing.
